How to Host the Perfect Friendsgiving

Friendsgiving is the perfect blend of food, fun, and friendship—a celebration that’s all about enjoying a cozy, relaxed version of Thanksgiving with your favorite people. Whether it’s your first time hosting or you’re a seasoned pro, here are a few tips to make this year's gathering extra special:

1. Set the Vibe
Ambiance is everything. Create a space for people to relax and settle into good conversations AND good food! Think dim lighting, candles, comfortable throw blankets in the living areas, and maybe even a playlist of feel-good tunes.

2. Potluck-Style Is Perfect
Friendsgiving is all about keeping it low-stress. Don’t overdo it on your end–you won’t enjoy it as much! Ask your friends to bring a dish—assign categories like appetizers, sides, or desserts so there’s variety. That way, you’re only responsible for the turkey (or the main dish), and everyone gets to contribute their favorite recipe.

3. Create a Gratitude Moment
Start a new tradition by passing around a gratitude item after dinner (might we suggest a blanket?). Each person takes a moment to share what they're thankful for while wrapped in a Saranoni blanket. It’s a sweet way to connect and reflect on the year.

4. Easy, Cozy Seating
Don’t worry about a formal dining table, seating assignments, or fancy linens. Scatter pillows, blankets, and poufs around a coffee table or set up a picnic-style dinner indoors. It’s all about comfort and closeness—no fancy seating necessary.

5. Don't Forget Dessert!
The time for pie will come–get creative for Friendsgiving! End the night with a dessert bar full of bite-sized treats. Think mini donuts, cookies, or s'mores. Bonus points if you can serve hot cocoa or cider to sip while everyone snuggles up in blankets for a post-dinner movie or game night.

Wrapping it UP!

With these simple tips, your Friendsgiving will be cozy, casual, and memorable. Don’t forget to ask someone specific to be in charge of snapping pictures throughout the evening. (Or, provide the table with a disposable camera!) It will leave everyone free to be unplugged and off their phones as much as possible. Thank us later!
